The Weekend Rain Should Have Ruined...But Didn't!

For over a month, I have planned on going home in order to take some pictures of people that had been asking for some. Earlier in the week, I had been looking at the weather predictions, and I was immediately bummed. There I was, literally dripping in sweat in my non-air conditioned apartment from 80+ weather outside, and I saw that the temp was going to drop, and it was going to be cold, there would be rain, and there was even a chance of snow! I mean, I've had these dates set out a month in advance! Two of the shoots were of seniors that are graduating in a matter of weeks, I wanted to make sure we got there pictures done before we would have to call them "Post-Graduation Pictures". After deciding if it would even be worth it to attempt to take pictures, I realized that I did really want to go home and see my family, so we went anyway. One of the shoots that we were supposed to take Friday was rained out because that day was literally all rain, all gross. I saw online that the rest of the days were supposed to be sunny so I was starting to get my hopes up! I ended up getting to spend my friday evening meeting my husband and I's newest addition to our family; a little 6 week old kitten!

His name will be Sargon! Isn't he just adorable? He was definitely fun to play with!
He even fell asleep on me :) I think he is going to like living with us, and hopefully him and Savannah will get along great!

So that was my evening on Friday. Saturday was the day of my second shoot, which was of my cousin Brandon. Unfortunately there was no sun, and it had been sprinkling on and off all day. It was even sprinkling as me and my mom were headed over! During the shoot, though, there was no rain, and the lighting was perfect even with no sun! I very much love how these came out, and I had posted some in my previous post, so you can look there for more, but here's one just to show how great they turned out!

Now let's jump forward to Sunday. This day I rescheduled my cancel session from Friday, and I also had an engagement to do of my brother and his fiancee. That was the one I did first. It was raining quite a bit when I woke up, and to make matters worse, the Arnold Park where we had planned on doing the shoot was closed due to being flooded! Man. So I have heavy rain fall and a river against me today! My parents have a really pretty area in their duplex, so we took these photos outside my parent's house after the rain stopped (We got to watch the movie Prometheus while we waited!) Though the location wasn't my first choice, I am proud of how these turned out. I love seeing that even though these two weren't looking forward to having pictures done, you could easily see the love they have for each other in them :)

This leads me to my last photo shoot. I have known Chris since I was in 8th grade when his family moved from Michigan. We were in the same youth group when he was old enough to be in it, and it was awesome! I am so glad I got to take his senior pictures. Sadly it was raining off and on throughout the whole shoot, but we got some pretty good shots done nonetheless!

Even though this weekend was doomed to fail, I successfully got to do all three photo shoots I had planned, thanks to the grace of God! The green was so vibrant due to the rain too, so I really don't have much to complain about :) It was a great weekend, and I am excited for next weekend when I have another engagement shoot to do!
until next time,
Bethany.
